In November 2006, the English city of Salford commissioned HOCHTIEF PPP Solutions (UK) Ltd. to design, finance and build two schools and subsequently operate them on the basis of a public-private partnership (PPP) contract.

To handle the contract, HOCHTIEF PPP Solutions (UK) teamed up with NIBC Project Investments and founded the project company Salford School Solutions Ltd. in which each of the partners has a 50 percent share. The project volume over the entire contract period is approximately EUR 222 million.
