In the North Ayrshire region in the western part of Scotland, HOCHTIEF PPP Solutions GmbH–via its subsidiary HOCHTIEF PPP Solutions (UK)–handed over the last out of a total of four new schools to the North Ayrshire Council in January 2008. In early 2006, the company had been commissioned to design, finance, build and subsequently operate the four educational facilities on the basis of a PPP contract.

For this purpose, HOCHTIEF PPP Solutions set up PPP Services (North Ayrshire) Ltd. in which it holds a 50 percent interest. The other partners are PFI Infrastructure Finance Ltd. (30 percent), and Norddeutsche Landesbank, London (20 percent). The project contract volume over the entire 30-year period amounts to around EUR 550 million.
