With a symbolic handover of the door key, HOCHTIEF PPP Solutions GmbH celebrated completion of the construction works on its "Schools in Cologne" public-private partnership (PPP) project in March 2007. At the beginning of 2005, the City of Cologne had commissioned the company to plan, finance and refurbish seven schools at five locations and to subsequently operate them for a period of almost 25 years. To this end, the project company HOCHTIEF PPP Schulpartner Kšln P1 GmbH & Co. KG was established.

The assignment comprises a total of 13 buildings with some 45,000 square meters of space as well as about 72,000 square meters of outdoor premises. The project represents a contract volume of EUR 125 million.
